Woo, my second mani while I try and grow my nails out again! :)
Essie “Play Date” for the base; Sally Hansen Hard as Nails “770 Rock Bottom” for the dark purple spots; Avon Nailwear Pro “N603 French Tip White” for the white spots; oh yeah…and a Black Sharpie! :D
This is my first attempt at cheetah/leopard, and I am THRILLED with how this turned out. I’m really loving this Essie color (as I’m sure you can tell, since it was the base for my first mani) and I’m loving purples at the moment, so I’m rolling with it. I really wanted to give cheetah a try, but I didn’t have any nail pens or stripers, and I knew trying to do the cheetah with regular black polish would be disastrous, so I grabbed a sharpie and then did two coats of Sally Hansen clear coat over it so it wouldn’t fade. I thought throwing in some white would be a good way to offset the purples and make the cheetah pop too. This is great even if you have a hard time painting your dominant hand (like I do) because with cheetah, it doesn’t have to be perfect. To prove this, I posted a picture of each hand :D
My nails are coming along nicely too. The semi-circle indentations haven’t grown out yet, but the nails themselves are growing longer. I’ve noticed keeping them painted helps to keep me from biting/picking at my nails, which is expediting the growing process.
omg. cheetah and glitter! why didnt i think of that?!

Story behind this? Her dad was leaving on a 2 year deployment. She was crying, and wouldn’t let go of her dad’s hand, even when he stood in line, saluting. No one had the heart to break them apart.
